Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the Button Buddy app (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles user data and permissions in compliance with Google Play’s requirements. By installing or using our app, you agree to the practices described below.

2. Data Collection and Use

• No Personal Data Collected: We do not collect, store, or share any personal or sensitive user data (e.g., name, email, contacts, location).
• No Analytics or Advertising: We do not integrate any analytics services or third-party advertising networks.

3. Permissions and Their Usage

Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA)

Purpose: Allows the app to launch the device’s native camera application when you choose the “Camera” action.

Data Access: We do not capture, record, or save any photos or video. The camera permission is used only to open the system camera interface.

Accessibility Service (android.permission.BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE)

Purpose: Enables the key-mapping service that listens for hardware key events and dispatches your chosen actions (e.g., back, home, volume, flashlight, media controls).

Data Access: This service processes only raw key codes in memory to detect single, double, triple, or long presses. No information about what you type, where you type it, or any other interactions is recorded or transmitted.

Flashlight Control (via android.hardware.camera2.CAMERA)

Purpose: Toggles the device’s flashlight on or off in response to your configured hardware key mapping.

Data Access: We only call the system torch API; we do not record or upload any camera images or video.

4. Third-Party Services

None Used: We do not use any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising frameworks.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Data Retention and Security

• Local Storage Only: Any settings or mappings you create are saved locally on your device (in SharedPreferences).
• No External Transmission: We never transmit your settings or key-event data to any server.
• Security Measures: Data stored locally is managed by Android’s standard security model. We do not implement additional external backups or cloud storage.

7. Your Rights

• Disable Permissions: You can revoke the camera or accessibility permission at any time via your device’s Settings. Without these permissions, the related features will no longer function until you re-enable them.
• Uninstall: To remove all app data, simply uninstall the app; all local settings and mappings will be deleted.
